Wildlife Management Advisory Committee
About the Wildlife Management Advisory Committee
The Wildlife Management Advisory Committee, a sub-division under the Open Space Advisory Committee, is an advisory board to the Township Committee. Its mission is to develop and recommend a Wildlife Management Program that establishes rules and regulations for public hunting on Township-owned land with a Township-issued hunting license, as well as on private property.
Other responsibilities include:
- Providing an annual report to the Township Committee on the outcome of the past year’s wildlife management program;
- Identifying Township-owned properties appropriate for the conduct of public hunting and/or other methods of wildlife control or preservation; and
- Recommending rules and regulations consistent with those of the State to be included in the wildlife management program.
The committee consists of seven (7) mayoral-appointed members: five (5) of which must have active membership on the Open Space Advisory Committee, and two (2) of the Township's hunting community.
Meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and are held quarterly on the 4th Thursday of each designated month.
