The Raritan Township Stormwater Utility was created on Jul. 1, 2025 upon the adoption of Ordinance No. 25-22 following the unanimous consent of the Raritan Township Committee. While the Stormwater Utility has its own budget and separate source of funding, the staff of the Stormwater Utility Department consists of Township employees who also work in other departments:
Bills are sent annually. In 2025, property owners will receive a partial bill which will be sent in the fall. Starting in 2026, bills will be mailed the first quarter of every year.
Just like your property tax bill, you can pay your bill online, by mail or in person in the Tax Collector’s office.
Please visit the Tax Collector's page for more information on how to pay your bill.
A stormwater utility is a public utility that assesses fees and uses the revenue from these fees for stormwater management. A Stormwater Utility User Fee system is a means of distributing the costs of operating the community’s stormwater system amongst its various users in a fair and equitable manner. All properties will be assessed a fee regardless of tax status. There are no exempt properties. The dedicated funding source will be for stormwater management. The utility will provide stable revenue allowing for long-term planning and financing.
