Township’s OEM Lead Receives County, State Recognition for Supporting Local Businesses

RARITAN TWP., N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Raritan Township’s Office of Emergency Management (“OEM”) Coordinator and President/CEO of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce Christopher J. Phelan was named the 2025 New Jersey Chamber Alliance Partner by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce during the State Chamber’s Legislative & Business Awards Reception in Iselin, Oct. 22.

The reception is a premier event recognizing leaders who strengthen the Garden State’s businesses. Mr. Phelan’s recognition as the 2025 New Jersey Chamber Alliance Partner highlights his tireless advocacy, visionary leadership, and steadfast efforts to promote business development and collaboration across the region.

In addition to the State’s honor, the Hunterdon County Commissioners adopted an official proclamation at a recent Board meeting.

“On behalf of my fellow Commissioners, I would like to congratulate Chris Phelan on this well-deserved recognition,” Commissioner Director John E. Lanza said during the Board meeting. “His dedication to supporting the business community, empowering local leaders, and advancing policies that strengthen economic growth embodies Hunterdon County’s spirit of leadership and collaboration.”

The Board’s proclamation celebrates Mr. Phelan’s exceptional leadership, advocacy, and dedication to fostering economic growth throughout Hunterdon County and the State of New Jersey.

“We are proud to see his efforts acknowledged at the state level and grateful for the effect he continues to make for businesses and residents alike,” Lanza added.

The proclamation was presented to Mr. Phelan during the statewide awards event.
