Meet Brad Perry, Raritan Township’s NEW Mayor for 2026
Mayor Perry Takes Office in Raritan Township; Outlines Agenda Focused on "Rural Charm" and Fiscal Discipline
RARITAN TWP., N.J. (Hunterdon County) — At the annual Reorganization meeting, the Raritan Township Committee appointed Brad Perry as this year’s mayor, and Committeewoman Robyn Fatooh as his deputy, Jan. 6.
Mayor Perry outlined a focused agenda for the upcoming year, prioritizing the preservation of open space, enhanced resident communication, fiscal discipline, and support for first responders.

A township resident since 2017, Mayor Perry brings a diverse background to the role, having served as a firefighter on the Raritan Township Fire Company and a member of the Township’s Zoning Board of Adjustment prior to joining the Township Committee in 2023. Professionally, he holds a doctorate in pharmacy and works in regulatory affairs in the pharmaceutical industry.
"One thing near and dear to my heart is maintaining our 'rural charm' through open space preservation," Perry emphasized. "21.1% of our township is now preserved land—that is 5,079 acres—and we must continue to cherish our farmland and open spaces."
Mayor Perry announced that a key part of his strategy to utilize that open space is through the formation of a new Recreation Committee.
"This year, I’m proposing a new Recreation Committee to breathe life into our parks and open spaces," Perry said. "Communication is the lifeblood of a healthy democracy. Residents will have another resource to make their opinions heard, promote community events, and formulate new ideas for recreational activities and the annual Holiday Lights event."
Mayor Perry concluded his address by committing to a balance of public safety support and fiscal conservatism.
"I will be a fierce advocate for our emergency services, ensuring they have the resources to do their jobs safely while keeping us safe." Perry stated. "But we must also plan ahead and have an honest conversation about finances. My goal is to aggressively explore shared service agreements and grant opportunities to reduce the burden on our taxpayers. We have to find smarter, more efficient ways to deliver the same high-quality services residents expect. We will continue to aim for stabilization and responsible stewardship of your investment."
