Raritan Township Seeks Recreation Advisory Committee Members to Enhance Community Engagement and Local Amenities
Raritan Township (Hunterdon County) -- Raritan Township is pleased to announce the successful passage of Ordinance 26-10 on Tuesday, March 17, establishing a Recreation Advisory Committee dedicated to supporting, enhancing, and expanding the Township’s recreational offerings and community spaces. Residents are welcome to apply to serve on the committee, providing them with the opportunity to contribute ideas, collaborate with municipal leaders and fellow community members, and play a meaningful role in enhancing the Township’s recreational landscape.
Mayor Bradford Perry welcomed the formation of the committee, stating,
"The establishment of the Recreation Advisory Committee marks an exciting step for our community. A committee with a passion for and dedication to enhance our parks, open spaces, and the various sporting activities that make Raritan Township a wonderful place to live.”
“Our goal is to foster a greater sense of community through new events and improved programs for everyone,” Mayor Perry continued. “To make this vision a reality, we are looking for dedicated public members to join the committee. This is a unique opportunity for residents to have a direct voice in identifying park improvements and shaping the future of our local recreation. We encourage anyone with a passion for our town to volunteer and help us build a more vibrant and connected Raritan Township."
Raritan Township already offers a wide range of valued recreational assets, including well-maintained parks, scenic open spaces, and a variety of sports fields and facilities. The community also benefits from highly anticipated annual activities and events, such as the summer intersession program, Community Day, and the Holiday Lights celebration. The newly formed committee will build on this strong foundation by exploring new event opportunities, enhancing existing programs, and ensuring that Township facilities continue to meet the evolving needs of residents. In addition, the committee will serve as an important channel for community input, giving residents a more direct voice in shaping recreational priorities and initiatives.
