ATTENTION: Upcoming Township Programs for Pets
RARITAN TWP., N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Pet owners, we all want to ensure the health and safety of our furry friends; that’s why the Township of Raritan has TWO FREE rabies clinics dedicated to prioritizing your pet’s well-being!
Every year, Raritan Township requires resident pet owners to license their cats and dogs and ensure their pet has a valid rabies vaccine. To learn more about the Township resources available for the next two months, see below:
Pet Licensing
Beginning Apr. 1, the Township will be accepting Pet License applications. Once your application has been processed, your pet will be issued a license and tag, which will be valid from June 1, 2025 until May 31, 2026.
All dogs and cats more than seven months old must be registered no later than May 31, 2025. Residents can submit their completed application by mail, in-person at the Municipal Clerk's Office, or online through the SDL Portal starting April 1.
Proof of Rabies vaccination is required with an expiration date valid to April 1, 2026. If your pet cannot be vaccinated, your veterinarian must fill out the Rabies Exempt Form.
The application fee for neutered/spayed dogs is $20.00 and $23.00 for non-neutered/spayed; and applications for cats is $15.00.
If you are paying by check, please make it payable to “Raritan Township.”
